Dr. Bruce Prokopetz was born in Armstrong, British Columbia. While growing up, he gained a valuable background in farming, forestry, and logging, and eventually pursued a career in dentistry. He graduated from Loma Linda University in Southern California in 1986, and then returned to Canada where he joined a team dental practice in Terrace, B.C. for the next 7 years. In 1993, he opened his own practice in that area, and in 1998, he and his family moved to Kelowna where he again opened his own practice and continued to enjoy the Art of Dentistry. In 2012, Dr. Prokopetz opened a new practice in Sicamous BC where he enjoys the small town atmosphere.
His patients find that his varied background makes him easy to talk to. His personable staff, and the beautiful Parkland Dental Centre all serve to put patients at ease the minute they walk through the office door.
Dr. Prokopetz, is dedicated to providing exceptional care to his patients. Because of his "down to earth" nature, he prefers to be called "Dr. Bruce". In his spare time, Dr. Bruce enjoys going to third world countries and providing emergency dental services to people who do not have access to dental care.
Dr. Bruce is committed in his desire of meeting the needs of each patient’s individual circumstances, and many people discover that he and his team far exceed their expectations, not only in meeting their immediate needs, but as teachers to assist in helping them to develop preventive measures for the long term maintenance of their dental health.
Dr. Bruce is always up to a challenge and therefore, seems to thrive on the need to keep current in our ever changing world of technology. He frequently attends opportunities of learning in order to study under other Giants in their field of expertise, some of those being: Dr. Dick Barnes of California for cosmetic crown and bridge work, Dr. Kenneth James of Washington, for excellence in the Hygiene Department, Imtiaz Manji for efficient management skills, and Dr. Mark Morin for quality ceramic restorations.
